Robert was born in 1605.  Robert's father was Thomas Whitney and his mother was Mary Bray.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Whitney and Elizabeth Morgan; his maternal grandfather was John Bray and his maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Henry, John, Nowell, Francis, Margaret, Arnwaye and Mary.  He was the youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 57 in 1662.
