Catherine's father was François Savoie and her mother was Catherine Le Jeune (dit Briard). Her paternal grandfather was Thomas François de Savoie (Prince de Carignan) and her paternal grandmother is Unknown; her maternal grandparents were Pierre Le Jeune I (dit Briard) and Unknown Mi'kmaq Indian. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Germain, Francois, Francoise, Marie, Jeanne, Barnabe, Andrée and Marie. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died after 1725.

  Soon after the first census was taken, Francois Levron dit Nantois, age 20, arrived at Port-Royal. In 1676 he married Catherine, a daughter of Francois Savoie. She gave him 10 children, including four sons who raised families of their own. Jacques, Jean-Baptiste, and Pierre remained in the Port-Royal area and married into the Doucet and Labauve families. Joseph dit Metayer left Port-Royal and settled at Boucherville, across the river from Montreal, where he married into a Canadian family. François and Catherine had 11 children: (14)
