Francoise was born in 1706 in Port Royal, Acadia, Nova Scotia, Canada.  Francoise's father was Jacques Leger (dit Larose) and her mother was Madeleine Trahan. She had three brothers named Jacques, Jean and Francois.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
