Marie was born on October 14th, 1802.  Marie's father was Ameda Bourque and her mother was Rosalie Mire.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Bourque and Marie Leblanc; her maternal grandparents were Joachim  (Bénoni) dit Bénoni Lemire and Madeleine Melançon. She had three brothers named Benjamin, Jean and Zenon.  She was the youngest of the four children.
