Joannes Baptiste was born on March 29th, 1757.  Joannes Baptiste's father was Judocus Benoit and his mother was Jeanne Thérèse Courtens.  His paternal grandparents were Judocus Benoit and Magdalena Dewaele. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Jean Baptiste, Petrus Josephus, Jacobus, Marie Josepha, Maria Francisca, Joanna Theresia, Joanna Isabella, Maria Joanna and Maria Jacoba.  He was the nineth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 54 on September 14th, 1811.
