Carolus was born on March 1st, 1796.  Carolus' father was Adrianus Algoet and his mother was Anna Maria Coudijzer.  His paternal grandparents were Guillelmus Algoet and Maria Vandenhecke. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Joannes Franciscus, Fredericus, Frederick, Leo, Lucas Bernardus, Isabella Brigitta, Joanna Theresia, Isabella Brigitta and Barbara.  He died at the age of 77 on May 15th, 1873.
