Allan's father was William Murray and his mother was Catherine MacLean.  His maternal grandparents were John MacLean and Jessie. He had a brother and three sisters, named Allan, Margaret, Christina and Dolina.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died in 10 Habost, Ross-shire, Scotland.
