Alexander was born on December 1st, 1878 in Barvas, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland.1   Alexander's father was John Campbell and his mother was Mary Murray.  His paternal grandparents were Angus Campbell and Mary McKay; his maternal grandparents were Finlay Murray and Margaret Morrison. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Angus, Finlay, Catherine, Margaret, Mary and Catherine.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 75 on May 16th, 1954 in 119 Cross Skigersta, Barvas, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland.2
