Martha Patsy was born in 1770 in North Carolina, United States. Martha Patsy's father was James Theophilus Lewis Sr. and her mother was Elvira Griffen. Her paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Lewis and Elvira Helton. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Gideon, James Theophilus, Joseph, Samuel, Juder, Isaac, Elvira, Patsy, Margaret Peggy and Mary Polly. She had nine half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Gideon, Joseph, John, Nathan, Thaddeus, Absolom, Andrew, Samuel, Isaac, Elvira, Martha Patsy, Patsy, Margaret Peggy, Pasty and Elizabeth. She died at the age of 78 in 1848.-
