Ela Countess Longspee
Ela Countess was born about 1226 in Stratton de Audley, Oxfordshire, , England.1 Ela Countess' father was William Longespee and her mother was Idoine De Camville. Her paternal grandmother is Ella Countess of Salisbury; her maternal grandfather is Richard De Camville. She had two brothers and a sister, named William (3rd Earl of Salisbury, Richard and Ida. She was the oldest of the four children. She died before November 22nd, 1299 in Heleigh Castle, Staffordshire, England.2 General Notes
Ela Longespée was the daughter of William Longespée, 2nd Earl of Salisbury and Idoine de Camville.
She married James of Aldithley, son of Henry of Aldithley and Bertred Mainwaring, in 1244.
She died before 22 November 1299.
Her married name became d'Audley.
She bought the manors of Stratton (later called Stratton Audley) and Wretchwick, Oxfordshire, to her marriage.
