America Margaret Staten

America was born on May 1st, 1855 in Henry County, Kentucky.¹

America's father was William Staten and her mother was Matilda Brent. Her maternal grandparents were William Brent and Elizabeth Simmons. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named Alfred, William, Martha, Nancy, Elizabeth, Mary, Malissa, Alice and Cassandra. She was the nineth oldest of the ten children. She died due to Cerebral Brain Hemmorage at the age of 64 on February 23rd, 1920 in Jefferson Co., Kentucky. Her burial was in Eastern Cemetery.¹²
