John Mar

John was born about 1159 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.¹ John's father was Morgund mac Gylocher 2nd Earl of Mar and his mother was Countess of Mar Agnes. His paternal grandparents were Earl Gillocher of Mar and <Unknown>. He had six brothers and a sister, named Malcolm, James, Duncan, Donald, David, Gilchrist and Alestra.
