Charles was born about 1674 in Charles Co., Maryland.1   Charles' father was Joseph Hinson and his mother was Elizabeth Hoyle.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Hinson and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Charles Hoyle and <Unknown>. He had three brothers named Robert, Edmund and Joseph.  He was the oldest of the four children.
