Edward was born in 1736 in Prince William Co., Virginia.1   Edward's father was Edward Ballenger Sr. and his mother was Mary Williams.  His paternal grandparents were Andrew Ballenger and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Robert Williams and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and a sister, named James, John, Francis and Majorie.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 36 on August 30th, 1772 in Johnston Co., North Carolina, USA.1
