Count Heinrich of Sponheim-Heinsberg I

Heinrich was born in 1208 in Burgsponheim, Rheinland, Prussia.¹ Heinrich's father was Count Gottfried of Sponheim III and his mother was Countess Adelheid of Sayn. His paternal grandparents were Count Gottfried of Sponheim II and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Count Heinrich of Sayn II and Agnes von Saffenberg. He had four brothers named Marquard, Johann, Simon and Walram. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 50 in 1258.²
