Count Burkhard of Hohenberg I

Burkhard was born in 1148 in Hohenberg, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wurttemberg.¹ Burkhard's father was Count Burkhard of Hohenberg and his mother was von Schala. His paternal grandparents were Count Friedrich of Zollern I and Countess Udihild of Zollern and Urach. He had a brother named Friedrich. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 45 in 1193.¹
