Count Burkhard of Hohenberg

Burkhard was born in 1096 in Zollern, Wessingen, Hohaenzollern, Prussia.¹ Burkhard's father was Count Friedrich of Zollern I and his mother was Countess Udihild of Zollern and Urach. His paternal grandparents were Burkard von Zolorin I and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Count Egino of Urach II and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Friedrich, Egino, Ulrich, Gottfried, Adalbert, Udihild, Emma and Luitgard. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 54 in 1150.¹
