Count Otto of Henneberg I

Otto was born in 1116 in Wurzburg, Unterfranken, Bavaria.¹ Otto's father was Count Gotwald of Henneberg I and his mother was Lukard von Hohenberg. His paternal grandparents were Count Poppo of Henneberg I and Princess Hildegard of Thuringia; his maternal grandparents were Berthold von Hohenberg and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and a sister, named Poppo, Gebhard, Gunther, Berthold and Hildegard. He was the youngest of the six children.
