Count Berthold of Henneberg I

Berthold was born in 1108 in Wurzburg, Unterfranken, Bavaria.¹ Berthold's father was Count Gotwald of Henneberg I and his mother was Lukard von Hohenberg. His paternal grandparents were Count Poppo of Henneberg I and Princess Hildegard of Thuringia; his maternal grandparents were Berthold von Hohenberg and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and a sister, named Poppo, Gebhard, Gunther, Otto and Hildegard. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 49 in 1157.¹
