V. Francis was born in 1912 in Granville Co, NC. V. Francis' father was Samuel 'Sam' Henry Veasey and her mother was Lula Belle Roberts. Her maternal grandparents were Edward P. Roberts and Frances Forsyth. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Wesley Floyd, Samuel Cortez, Luther Aubrey, John Edward, William, Robert, Grace Lee and Dorothy Belle.General Notes
