Hinton Vance Tilley 
Hinton Vance was born on July 6th, 1833 in Chapel Hill, Orange Co, NC and his baptism took place in Census 1900. Hinton Vance's father was James Tilley and his mother was Temperance Roberts. His maternal grandparents were George Roberts and Nancy Mize. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named George William, Joel, James Sidney, Atlas, Emmett Harrison, Dock, Henry Adolphus, Minerva, Adeline, Nancy Caroline, Julia Ann, Edna A. and Parthenia. He was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 74 on May 20th, 1908 in Orange Co, NC.General Notes
