4th Baron Appin Sir Duncan was born about 1532 in Appin, Argyllshire, Scotland.¹ 4th Baron Appin Sir Duncan's father was 3rd Baron Appin Sir Allen Stuart and his mother was Margaret Cameron. His paternal grandparents were 1st Baron Appin Dugald Stuart and Isabella MacDougall. He had four brothers named Alexander, Donald, John and Dugald. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died in 1574 in Appin, Argyllshire, Scotland.¹
