2nd Baron Appin Sir Duncan was born about 1495 in Appin, Argyllshire, Scotland. 2nd Baron Appin Sir Duncan's father was 1st Baron Appin Dugald Stuart and his mother was Isabella MacDougall. His paternal grandparents were Lord of Lorn John Mourach Stuart and Janet MacLaren. He had two brothers named 3rd Baron Appin Sir Allen and Robert. He was the oldest of the three children. He died on September 10th, 1547.-
