Rufus Spears 
Rufus was born on February 13th, 1880 in Pointer Creek, Pulaski County, Sommerset, Kentucky. Rufus' father was James William Spears and his mother was Isabella Spaw. His paternal grandparents were Hezekiah "Ki" Spears and Catherine "Caty" Wesley; his maternal grandparents were George Washington Spaw and Frances "Fanny" Dick. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named George Riley, Hezekiah "Hessie", Albert Theodore "Bert", John Thomas, James Hubert, William Catron, Banlow, Christopher Columbus, Fannie Catrin, Octolona, Mary Ellen, Sarah Martha and Rosetta. He was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 74 on April 4th, 1954 in Somerset, Kentucky. He was buried in West Somerset Cemetary.-
