Benjamin Lewis Simmons Sr. 
Benjamin Lewis was born on October 5th, 1820 in TN and his baptism took place in Census 1900. Benjamin Lewis' father was Joseph N. Simmons and his mother was Mary Elizabeth 'Betty' Lewis. His paternal grandparents were James Simmons and Stacy Ann Roberts. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Joseph Henry Knox, James D., Andrew Jackson 'Jack', George Washington, Mamie Elizabeth, Katherine and Maryann. He was the oldest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Francis M.. He died at the age of 81 on September 18th, 1902 in Van Buren Co, TN. He was buried in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cummingsville, Van Buren Co, TN.General Notes
