James Nathan Shipley 
James Nathan was born about 1875.1 James Nathan's father was William Nathan Shipley and his mother was Elmira Gothard. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Shipley and Charlotte Campbell. He had four brothers and two sisters, named William Fayette, George Campbell, Sherd, John, Nancy Elmyra and Susan Charlotte. He died in , Knox County, Tennessee, USA.General Notes
James Nathan Shipley was born about 1875. He married Caroline Roe and they had two sons. James made ax handles. He died in a mental institution in Knox County, Tennessee after trying to kill his wife with an ax. She later married John Gothard of Sale Creek and they lived in Daisy, Tennessee.
