George M. was born in June 1876 in , Sullivan County, Tennessee, USA.1 George M.'s father was George Roller Shipley and his mother was Lydia Ann Hobbs. His paternal grandparents were William Park Shipley and Martha Patsy Roller. He had two brothers and a sister, named William Thomas, John Preston and Sarah M.. He was the youngest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Houston H., Daniel B. and Talitha C.. He died at 1 months old in July 1876.1 -
