David Roberts 
David was born in 1823 in Orange Co, NC.1 David's father was Willis B. Roberts and his mother was Nancy Marcom. His paternal grandparents were William Roberts and Lucy Jane Umstead. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William B., Richard F. G., Willis B., Martha C., Jane N. and Lucy A. Winnifred. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He had two half-sisters named Susannah and Sally.1 General Notes
