Mary Plantagenet

Mary was born in 1344.¹ Mary's father was Edward Plantagenet of England III and her mother was Countess Phillipa of Hainault. Her paternal grandparents were Edward Plantagenet of England II and Isabella Capet of France; her maternal grandparents were Count of Hainault William D'Avesnes III and Joan Jeanne de Valois. She had five brothers named Edward, Lionel, John (of Gaunt), Edmund and Thomas. She was the second youngest of the six children.
