Leland Kashner was born on May 16th, 1896 in Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana.1 Leland Kashner's father was William P. PAYTON and his mother was Alice KASHNER. His paternal grandparents were John L. PAYTON and Sarah Elizabeth STOUT. He had two sisters named Lucille and Rhoda. He was the second oldest of the three children. He was medium in height and weight with brown eyes and hair. 1920 census: Single clerk at a produce store (probably working for father) and living with parents. Living at 334 Monteray Road in Los Angeles Co., California in 1920. Living at 341 North Reno Street in Los Angeles County in 1924 thru 1934; salesman in 1924 thru 1932. Living at 948 South Windsor Blvd in Los Angeles County in 1936 thru 1952; mechanic in 1936 and supervisor in 1938 & 1942.
