Edward Clay PAYTON 
Edward Clay was born on June 26th, 1874 in Parke Co., Indiana.1 Edward Clay's father was George Alexander PAYTON and his mother was Malinda JOHNSON. His paternal grandparents were John PAYTON and Nancy WALLINGFORD; his maternal grandparents were John W. JOHNSON and Harriet WALLINGFORD. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John W., George H., William Daniel, James L., Anna J., Nancy J., Mary M., Sarah E., Maggie C. and Grace. He died at the age of 22 on April 25th, 1897 in Indiana.1 General Notes
