George Alexander PAYTON 
George Alexander was born on July 9th, 1835 in Mason Co., Kentucky.1 George Alexander's father was John PAYTON and his mother was Nancy WALLINGFORD. His maternal grandparents were Mark WALLINGFORD and Mary WHALEY. He had two sisters named Julia Ann and Minerva C.. He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-sister named Sophia. He died at the age of 82 on December 29th, 1917 in Parke County Asylum, Rockville, Indiana. He was buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Parke Co., Indiana.2 1 General Notes

Re-admitted by his choice on March 14, 1904 and discharged on May 3, 1904 by his choice. Re-admitted on February 26, 1908; light complexion; living in Jessup and has wife and son in Jessup; discharged on September 11, 1908 to friends caring for him. Re-admitted on November 12, 1908; soldier in Civil War; discharged on July 1, 1909. Re-admitted on November 5, 1910; wife died in 1910; discharged by his choice on March 20, 1911. Re-admitted on April 4, 1911; living in Rosedale; afflicted with kidney and bladder trouble; has a Aunt Sarah Ross; discharged by his choice on June 17, 1911. Re-admitted on November 14, 1911; living in Mecca; parents are John and Marrcie (Wallingford) Payton and son is Will B. Payton; daughter Anna Bradshaw lives at 534 South 8th Street in Terre Haute; discharged by his choice on January 2, 1912. Re-admitted on October 18, 1912 and discharged by his choice on April 18, 1913. Re-admitted on April 19, 1914; mother is Marcy (Wallingford) Payton; notify William D. Payton in case of sickness or death; discharged by his choice on July 1, 1916. Re-admitted on August 14, 1916 and died on December 29, 1917.
