John Murphy 
John was born in 1800 in North Carolina. John's father was Ezekiel Murphy and his mother was Martha Smith. His paternal grandparents were Miles Murphy and Amey Norman. He had a brother and two sisters, named Wayne William, Annie and Caroline. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Harrison Gaines, Samuel Houston, Ezekiel "Ike" and Louisa Victoria. He died at the age of 77 on June 9th, 1877 in Rutherford County TN.General Notes
