William Tom McCollum 
William Tom was born on September 29th, 1892 in Rockingham Co, NC. William Tom's father was Jesse Lee McCollum and his mother was Nora Ellizabeth Knight. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Benton Knight and Mary Mahalia Carter. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert Earl, Henry Edgar, Jesse Lee, James Herbert, Paul Dennis, Ida Irene Baynes, Nora Elizabeth and Ella B.. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 96 on June 23rd, 1989 in Eden, Rockingham Co, NC.General Notes
