William Maxwell

William was born about 1582 in Nithsdale, Dumfrieshire, Scotland. William's father was William Maxwell and his mother was Catherine Kerr. His maternal grandparents were Mark Kerr and Helen Leslie. He had two brothers named John and Robert. He was the second oldest of the three children.
