Ruth Lyon 
Ruth was born in 1771 in Redding, Fairfield, Connecticut. Ruth's father was John Lyon and her mother was Hepzibah Betts. Her paternal grandparents were Nathan Lyon and Abigail Mallory. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Peter, George, William Henry, Abigail, Reuben and Sabra. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.-
