Ella M. was born in November 1896 in Rockingham Co, NC. Ella M.'s father was Emory Calvin Knight and her mother was Ruth Jane Malloy. Her paternal grandparents were John C. Knight and Elizabeth Roberts. She had five sisters named Beula C., Katie Ruth, Gladys Gertrude, Bernice Ruby and Mildred Virginia. She was the second oldest of the six children. She had a half-brother named Walter Fountain.General Notes
