Reuben Smith [@@] was born on April 8th, 1838.¹ Reuben Smith [@@]'s father was Sion [@@] Hunt and his mother was Priscilla Kendrick [@@] Thornton. His maternal grandparents were Benjamin T [Sr @@] Thornton and Sarah E [@@] Upshaw. He had five brothers and three sisters, named James Jackson [@@], Benjamin Thornton [@@], T W Harrison [@@], Dosier Calloway [@@], Daniel Crumley [@@], Mary Elizabeth [@@], Frances Jane [@@] and Emily Priscilla [@@]. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 74 on October 9th, 1912.
