Anna E. was born in 1877 in Rockingham Co, NC. Anna E.'s father was Joseph H. Hall and her mother was Lucy Jane Roberts. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson Roberts and Arrena Wortha Hopper. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James Thomas, Newton, Jesse Clyde, Mattie Vivien, Maudy M. and Cora Dell. She was the second oldest of the seven children.General Notes
