John Powers Goforth 
John Powers was born on September 22nd, 1872 in TN and his baptism took place in Draft Registration. John Powers' father was John Franklin Goforth and his mother was Sarah Ann Collins. His paternal grandparents were George Goforth and Nancy Jane Houser. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Ruben Henry, Handy Mask, Laura Rebecca, Nancy George Ann and Prudence Harman. He was the third oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother named Claude Lee. He died at the age of 81 on September 17th, 1954 in Kossuth, Alcorn Co, MS. He was buried in Union Cemetery, Hightown, Alcorn Co, MS.General Notes
