1st Lord Lovat Hugh was born about 1440 in Lovat Castle, Kilmorack, Invernesshire, Scotland. 1st Lord Lovat Hugh's father was Thomas Fraser and his mother was Janet Dunbar. His paternal grandparents were Hugh Fraser and Janet Fenton. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, James, Margaret, Isobelle, Janet and Egidia. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died on April 30th, 1501.
