Knox was born on March 16th, 1889 in Christian County, Missouri, USA. Knox's father was Rev Thomas Andrew Foster and his mother was Mary Magdalene White. His paternal grandparents were Robert Dudley Foster and Elizabeth Mitchell. He had a brother and two sisters, named Dudley Ross, Sydna Elizabeth and Mary Josephine. He was the oldest of the four children. He had three half-brothers named Thomas Lawrence, Willard Robert and Henry Clay. He died at the age of 56 on December 31st, 1945 in Christian County, Missouri, USA.-
