Edward was born on September 2nd, 1725.1   Edward's father was Samuel Durham and his mother was Mary Riggan.  His maternal grandparents were James Riggan and Joan. He had a brother and four sisters, named William, Mealy, Sarah, Frances and Helen.  He was the third youngest of the six children.
