Mary C. was born about 1839 in Alabama. Mary C.'s father was James DAVIS and her mother was Rutha STAPLER. Her maternal grandparents were John S. STAPLER and Ann NORMAN. She had three brothers and three sisters, named John S., James B., David D., Sarah Elizabeth, Martha A. and Rutha. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.-
