Martha A. was born about 1843 in Alabama. Martha A.'s father was James DAVIS and her mother was Rutha STAPLER. Her maternal grandparents were John S. STAPLER and Ann NORMAN. She had three brothers and three sisters, named John S., James B., David D., Sarah Elizabeth, Mary C. and Rutha. She was the third youngest of the seven children.-
