Hugh Clifton 
Hugh was born in 1467 in Clifton, Nottinghamshire, England.1 Hugh's father was Gervase Clifton and his mother was Alice Neville. His paternal grandparents were Sir Robert Clifton and Alice Booth; his maternal grandparents were Thomas de Neville and Elizabeth Babington. He had five brothers and three sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Robert, Gervase, Thomas, Selnester, William, Margaret, Adeline, Elizeus, Prothasicis and Gamaliell. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.-
