Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Cary and Elizabeth Roberts. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Felix G. 'Pope', William Alexander 'Pope', James H., Joseph W., Samuel T., Nancy J. 'Pope' and Paralee Pilina 'Pope'. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Alvin and Frances Elizabeth.General Notes
