George R. Carter 
George was born on October 4th, 1725 in Christ Church Parish, Lancaster County, Virginia.1 George's father was Thomas Carter Sr. and his mother was Sarah Haynie. His paternal grandparents were Edward Carter and Elizabeth Thornton; his maternal grandparents were Ormsby Haynie and <Unknown>. He had six brothers and six sisters, named John, Thomas, Edward, Rawleigh, William, James, Judith, Mary, Lucy, Millicent, Sarah and Alcy. He was the second oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 78 in 1803 in Charlotte County, Virginia.1 General Notes
