William Browning

William was born about 1710 in Essex County, Virginia.¹ William's father was Francis Browning and his mother was Rachel Merritt. His paternal grandparents were John Browning and Elizabeth Demarest. He had six brothers and a sister, named Francis, John, Edward, James, Thomas, Nicholas and Anne. He was the second youngest of the eight children.
