William was born in 1392 in Dunham, Cheshire, England.¹ William's father was Sir John Booth and his mother was Joan de Trafford. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Booth and Elena de Workesley; his maternal grandparents were Henry de Trafford and Margery Ince.
